Bill bags a couple of milestone games
Congratulations go out to one of the stalwarts of our panel, Bill Keenan, who has reached a couple of significant milestones this season. As reported back in Round 5, Bill ticked off his 200th 2nd XI game with Lalith Chandrasena and in Round 9 it was his 300th VSDCA game, when he umpired alongside James Barrett, in the 2nd XI fixture between Croydon and Altona Bill is both a VSDCUA Life and '200 Club' member, having umpired his games across the following grades.: Pennant Game

Brendan brings up a 100 games
Another significant milestone was achieved in Round 8 when Brendan Schutt umpired his 100th game in Subbie's, alongside his colleague Ray Butterfield in the 1st XI fixture between Ivanhoe and Coburg. J.G. Craig best player awards
Since 1972 the VSDCUA have awarded a trophy to the best player in each section of the J.G. Craig Under 15 competition and also in its forerunner the R.M. Hatch Under 14 competition. Noki notches up 450 games
Noki Tryphonos, who is now in his 28th year of service to Subbie's umpired his 450th game with Jeremy Anthony in Round 8 of the North West Sunday fixture between St Bernard's and Preston. Graham Hill joins VSDCUA 200 Club

Round 3 wrapped up without Melbourne’s weather interfering! But, of course, it made its presence felt in the next round, leading to the rescheduling of Rounds 4 and 5, which you’ll know about by now. Congratulations to Ray Stokes who is the newest member of our '200 Club'. In Round 3, Ray was teamed up with his son Frank to umpire his 200th game in the 1st XI match between Moorabbin and Plenty Valley. A taste of 2 day cricket was most welcome. Unfortunately those games rostered for the Sunday's suffered a complete washout on Day 2. The weather gods also had a bit of a say towards the closing stages of the second day of a few of our Saturday games. A positive out of that is that some of our umpires got experience at administering the revised Pennant Rule 16, that we now operate under.
