A big shout-out to one of the VSDCUA’s most popular umpires, Bill Finnigan, who will officiate his 400th VSDCA game in Round 12, alongside his partner in crime, Gary White, in the 1st XI clash between Taylors Lakes and Williamstown.
Bill started his career with Subbies back in Season 2001. Highlights along the way are achieving both VSDCUA Life and 200 Club memberships, membership of the VSDCA 200 Club and a swag of finals which are listed below. And to top it all off he was awarded the Matt Harris Shield for 'Most Improved Umpire' in Season 2006/07.
Bill has also been a great supporter of both versions of the Subbies Under 14 & Under 15 marquee tournaments over his years of service, and was appointed to umpire the final of the 2006/07 Under 14 R.M. Hatch final. He has also officiated in 24 T20 Twilight games.
Bill's games in the various grades of Subbies (which encompass 56 finals - 19 of which have been group finals) are as follows;
1st XI - 284 2nd XI - 59 3rd XI - 33 4th XI - 18 5th XI - 6
Finals 1st XI - 6 qualifying finals 4 semi finals
2nd XI - 6 qualifying finals 10 semi finals 5 group finals 3rd XI - 2 qualifying finals 6 semi finals 9 group finals

Congratulations, Bill, from all your colleagues at the VSDCUA, and we are confident that everyone in the VSDCA community will also acknowledge your 400 game milestone.
