We regret to announce the passing of John Robinson, a dedicated umpire and valued colleague. Over his 25 years of service from 1995 to 2021, John contributed as Treasurer (1998–2001), President (2004–2008), and committee member, notably helping in the organising of our End of Season functions.

Included in these 341 games were the following finals appointments

He earned life membership of the VSDCUA in 2005, the VSDCUA 200 Club award in 2011, and won the Matt Harris Shield as most improved umpire in 1997-98.

Our thoughts are with his family, who also recently lost Dot, John’s wife, who was a great support to John and was regularly seen helping him out at our End of Season functions.

An informal Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 5th, 2025 at 1pm at Pakenham Bowls Club. Friends new and old are welcome.

RIP John & Dot.
