VALE GEOFF TAIT

It is with much sadness that we at the VSDCUA learnt today of the passing of our former umpiring colleague Geoff Tait.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Geoff’s family at this sad time.Geoff was with Premier Cricket before coming over to Subbies in 1998, where he amassed 223 games, comprised of;

1st XI – 178

2nd XI – 28

3rd XI – 12

4th XI – 5

He stood in 26 finals.

1st XI – 8, including 2 Group Finals

2nd XI – 9, including 4 Group & 1 Championship Final

3rd XI – 6, including 2 Group Finals

4th XI – 3, including 1 Group Final

Geoff umpired the 2001-02 Under 14 Hatch Cup Final.

In 2008 he was made a life member of the VSDCUA and in 2014 a member of the VSDCUA ‘200 Club’.Geoff was a methodical planner and as such, a great partner for new umpires.ALWAYS reviewed the playing conditions before the match; ALWAYS supportive.
