It is with much regret that we inform you that former VSDCA Secretary Daryl Thiele passed away over the weekend.

Daryl was a respected figure within the VSDCA and contributed significantly to the Association both as a player and an administrator.

Daryl was also held in high esteem by the umpires association, throughout his service to the VSDCA.

His service record is as follows:

  • VSDCA General Secretary 12 seasons (1996/97-2007/08)

  • VSDCA Appeals Board 7 seasons (2013/14 – 2019-20)

  • VSDCA Hall of Fame Committee 8 seasons (2007/08-2014/15)

  • Cricket Victoria 50 Years of Service Award 2009/10

  • 10-year service to Box Hill CC as player/administrator

  • VSDCA Life Member

In recognition of his service to the VSDCA, the Board named the Best Player Medal in the 4th XI Division 2 Competition, ‘The Daryl Thiele Medal’.

Our condolences go out to Daryl's family at this difficult time.
