A taste of 2 day cricket was most welcome. Unfortunately those games rostered for the
Sunday's suffered a complete washout on Day 2. The weather gods also had a bit of a say towards the closing stages of the second day of a few of our Saturday games. A positive out of that is that some of our umpires got experience at administering the revised Pennant Rule 16, that we now operate under.

Milestones keep coming and congratulations go out to Ian Wyatt on doing his 150th 1st XI game with Darragh O'Donovan.
Thanks to Ivanhoe & Caulfield for joining in the celebration of Ian's achievement.
And congratulations to Stephen Hardie (previously a Club Umpire) who has rejoined us and stepped up to the panel this season, and to our Ormond Club Umpire Michael Cahalane, on both of them bringing up their 50th game in Subbies. We have also had at last count 33 umpires in all making their Subbie's debut! These numbers are truly remarkable and reflect the high standard of the VSDCA competition and the way it is managed.
The first 2 Rounds have also featured a number of members making their 1st XI debuts. Congratulations go out to Aaron Ezekiel, Mark Bullen, Ryan Chhajed, Peter Boulter & Ray Butterfield. We trust you all enjoyed the experience.
Rounds 3 & 4 fixtures are both 1 day affairs. Then we have a Saturday/Sunday fixture in Round 5, and our Appointment Manager asks if possible make yourself available for appointment to this Round. As he also pointed out in Fireside Chat # 4, please ensure you keep your availability up to date in OfficialsHQ by marking your LEAVES under your profile in OfficialsHQ.
Thanks to our sponsors, please support them whenever you can.
