Noki Tryphonos, who is now in his 28th year of service to Subbie's umpired his 450th game with Jeremy Anthony in Round 8 of the North West Sunday fixture between St Bernard's and Preston. And our thanks go out to both teams for joining in the celebrations and presenting him with one of the match balls, which was a fabulous gesture.

His Subbies games, combined with the 276 he umpired in the Metropolitan Cricket League from 1976 to 1996, bring his grand total to 726 games over a 49-year span!
That’s quite an achievement, and to celebrate this milestone, we’ve put together a profile highlighting the unique journey that led Noki to embrace an umpiring career and some of the highlights of his cricket journey. Click here to view the profile.
At our monthly meeting on 17 December in Brunswick, a venue that has witnessed many of Noki’s achievements over the years, it was announced that the best player awards for each group in the VSDCA Craig Shield Under 15 competition would be named to honour the dedication of longtime members. Noki was chosen to have the North Group award named after him.
Great job, Noki, and keep it up as you aim for your 500th game!
