Congratulations to Brighton CC on winning their 3rd JG Craig Premiership in defeating

Melton at Brighton Beach Oval on Sunday 2nd February.
Due to the hot conditions, the Craig Management Committee in conjunction with Team Managers & Umpires reduced the game to 35 overs per side.
Melton won the toss and invited Brighton to bat first, and off their 35 overs they made 5-163.
James Damiano and Menaka Arachchige equal top scored with 48. The wickets were spread amongst the Melton bowlers.
In a very dogged run chase, Melton were dismissed on the last ball of the 35th over for 150.
Mahir Mir top scored for Melton with 24, however they did have a very even batting line up with several batters getting starts. Wickets were shared amongst the Brighton bowlers.
James Damiano from Brighton was awarded the Ian Aitken Medal for best player in the Final.
During the afternoon, presentations were made by our Umpires’ Association to the best player in each group throughout the competition:
SOUTH Thomas Corrie Oakleigh
EAST Viraj dev Kumaran Mt Waverley
NORTH Henry Stone Preston
WEST Arjun Itankar Melton
Thank you to all the clubs for their support of the Craig Competition, the players families for their support, our umpires and in particular Colin Newport & Lachy Carney for umpiring the Final, and to Peter Flack and David Anning for their wonderful management of this competition.
Congratulations again to Brighton CC, and thanks to the club for their excellent hosting of the Final.
